Can you share with us the inspiration behind “Silent Script”? What themes or concepts did you explore while creating this album?

To me Silent Script means the story of your life that you write every day. The lyrical content written by Denny is left open to interpretation for the listener to decide.

How does “Silent Script” differ from your previous works in terms of sound and songwriting?

The writing process is basically the same but I believe the songs are stronger and better since we’ve become more accustomed to each other’s writing styles.

Were there any new influences or techniques you incorporated this time?

I don’t purposely try to write in any style or structure. I just work on melodies until I’m happy with the result. My influences change all the time based on what I’m listening to.

The title “Silent Script” is intriguing. What does it represent for the band, and how does it tie into the overall message of the album?

Everyone is writing their own Silent Script every day and what you do opens doors to new experiences or is just a repeat of the day before.

Can you tell us about the songwriting process for this album?

Did you work collaboratively, or did individual members take charge of specific tracks? We used the same process as on our previous release. I record the guitar for the songs, send them to Mark for drums. I then re-record the guitar tracks and send them to Geno for bass and Denny adds the vocals. We each write our own parts and contribute equally to each track.

Were there any particular challenges you faced during the recording of “Silent Script”? How did you overcome them?

Oddly, no. Everything went fairly smooth in the writing and recording process.

What can fans expect in terms of lyrical content? Are there any personal stories or experiences that influenced the lyrics on this album?

Denny always writes thought provoking lyrics that are left to the listener to interpret.

Did you collaborate with any other artists or producers on “Silent Script”? If so, how did their contributions shape the final sound?

Yes, Greg Wollan recorded background vocals on None Enslaved, Betraying Sight and Somniloquy. He did an amazing job and the choruses sound huge.

How do you feel your music has evolved since your last album, and what are you most proud of in “Silent Script”?

The songwriting, I think, has gotten stronger as we get more used to each other’s styles and abilities. It would be hard to pick favorites since I like them all.

With the current landscape of the music industry, how do you see “Silent Script” fitting into the hard/heavy genre? Are you aiming to push any boundaries?

Our style changes as we grow as a band. I would say Silent Script is still in the hard rock/metal genre but there are some heavier tracks on this release and a couple very progressive songs as well. We aren’t aiming to push boundries. We write songs that we would listen to even if we weren’t in the band.

What is your favorite track on the album and why? Can you give us some insight into that particular song?

I don’t really have a favorite track; I like them all. Creation Groans and Betraying sight I think came out great. One is very heavy and the other is very melodic and I love the chorus.

What are you most excited about for the future of Veritas and your continued journey as a band? I’m excitied for the future of the band and what we can achieve. We’re already working on the next cd and have some really great songs. We’re also looking forward to getting out and playing. We’re currently auditioning for live drummers.
